1,600 km throughout Quebec in support of children with cancer
MONTREAL, May 30, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The 19th edition of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau was officially launched this morning. The event, which runs from July 1 to 4, 2014, will see close to 230 cyclists travel some 1,600 kilometres in support of the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau, which comes to the aid of children with cancer all across Quebec. For the first time, the cyclists taking part in the Tour will be divided into five different itineraries departing, respectively, from Rimouski (4-day itinerary), Quebec City (2-day itinerary), Sherbrooke (2-day itinerary), Gatineau (new 2-day itinerary) and St-Hyacinthe (Ambassador's Day). All the cyclists will come together in Boucherville on the afternoon of July 4. This year's objective is to surpass the sum of $2,750,000 collected last year.
For the first time, actor Paul Doucet will join Pierre Bruneau to lead the field of riders taking part in the 4-day, 650-kilometre trek from Rimouski to Boucherville. TVA Québec news anchor Pierre Jobin, meanwhile, will depart on July 3 and cycle a distance of 300 kilometres from Quebec City to Montreal. In addition, some new faces will be joining the Tour this year as spokespersons. LCN news director Julie Marcoux and actor Ève Landry will lead the field of riders taking part in the Sherbrooke itinerary, while singer Luce Dufault agreed to act as spokesperson for the new itinerary departing from Gatineau.

Each of these cyclists is truly an inspiration for these children."
