"Our Government, through Sport Canada's Hosting Program, is proud to provide support to Cycling Canada Cyclisme for the 2012 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec et Montréal," said Minister of State Gosal. "Our athletes are an inspiration to Canadians of all ages and they serve as outstanding role models. I wish them, and everyone else taking part in these races, all the best."

"I am pleased to welcome cyclists and coaches from around the world to the province of Quebec," said Minister Paradis. "Last year, more than 275,000 spectators took in the races, and I am confident that we will surpass that figure this year. These races are sure to bring a welcome economic boost to both communities."

The Québec City (September 7) and Montréal (September 9) events are the only two North American stops on the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) World Tour and are among the top international events presented in Quebec.
