Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Generates Provincial Accolade for their Sustainable Tourism Practices

TORONTO, Nov. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) recently presented Great Wolf Lodge with the Sustainable Tourism Award for "Project Green Wolf" at the 2013 Ontario Tourism Awards.  The award recognizes a business that makes a viable and maintainable contribution to the practice and promotion of sustainable tourism in Ontario.

Great Wolf Lodge's Project Green Wolf, launched in 2006, was introduced as a way to spotlight and continue a long-last environmental commitment. The program engages both Pack Members (staff) and visitors in the protection and preservation of natural resources.

Great Wolf Lodge has shown its commitment to sustainable tourism by implementing a program that touches every aspect of their operations. Green tourism is the biggest travel trend of our lifetime and Great Wolf Lodge is a leader in providing families with "sustainable fun"- guests have come to expect a GREEN experience. Great Wolf Lodge employs hundreds of students who are now exposed to eco best practices to become a future cultured in a sustainable environment.

The Ontario Tourism Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the multi-billion dollar tourism industry, which is a key contributor to Ontario's economic prosperity. Nominations were open to all individuals in the tourism industry operating in Ontario and were judged by an independent, third-party panel of industry and marketing experts.
