For the first time in its history, Lotto Max will offer a $55 million jackpot

MONTREAL, July 16, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - This Friday, the new Lotto Max prize structure will take effect, and Quebecers will be able to buy tickets for a chance to win the $55 million jackpot, the biggest ever! Thirty Maxmillions ($1-million prizes) will also be in play, bringing the total prize pot to over $85 million.* If this Saturday's $35-million Lotto 6/49 jackpot is included, a total of more than $120 million could be won this weekend!

Loto-Québec joined the other Canadian lottery corporations in making changes to the Lotto Max prize structure in order to raise the jackpot from $50 million to $55 million, and eventually to $60 million. Now that should draw the attention of many players! Maxmillions will continue to be offered once the jackpot reaches $50 million and will also increase when the jackpot is not won.

Lotto Max has offered many large prizes in the past few months, generating a significant increase in sales. When the jackpot grows significantly, occasional players like to try their luck, and spontaneous groups of co-workers, friends and family members take the opportunity to join in the fun.

What's more, consumers now have more time to take part in draws, as the wager closing time for Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, and other draw lotteries, has been extended to 10:30 p.m.

Lucky Quebecers
Quebecers have been particularly lucky with their lottery tickets lately. Since January 1, 2015, 46 $1 million prizes have been awarded, including 10 to Lotto Max winners.

In fact, it's thanks to Lotto Max that Loto-Québec has been able to create the biggest winners in its history, with two $50 million jackpots won, respectively, on July 6, 2012, and May 31, 2013, by consumers in the Centre-du-Québec and Montréal regions.

Loto‑Québec, 45 years of emotions!
Loto‑Québec's mission is to responsibly and efficiently manage games of chance in a controlled and measured fashion, in the interest of all Quebecers. Entertainment is at the heart of its activities.
