TORONTO, Feb. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - The Elementary Teachers' Federation of
Ontario (ETFO) welcomes the announcement that Liz Sandals will be
Ontario's new minister of education.
"We want to congratulate the new minister on her appointment. Minister
Sandals brings important experience to the education portfolio," said
ETFO President Sam Hammond. "Along with serving as a former
parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Education, she chaired the
Safe Schools Action Team, which laid the groundwork for the Keeping Our Kids Safe at School Act, 2009."
"We look forward to working with Premier Kathleen Wynne and Minister
Sandals to continue building a strong education system in Ontario."
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario represents 76,000
elementary public school teachers and education professionals across
the province and is the largest teacher federation in Canada.
