Celebrate Winter with the Whole Family at the Space for Life

MONTREAL, Jan. 3, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Winter is upon us, and there are all kinds of fun activities to enjoy at the Space for Life, delighting visitors of all ages with Once upon a Winter. There are only a few days left to stroll through the winter fairyland at the Botanical Garden. Over at the Biodôme, you have until February 5 to warm up in the Tropical Forest and enjoy a fun adventure along with some endearing exotic animals.

At the Botanical Garden
Until January 8, you can admire the seven winter creations designed by recycler-artists using objects associated with winter fun (skis, hockey sticks, snowshoes, toboggans, etc.) in the Main Exhibition Greenhouse. In this magical setting, allow yourself to be whisked off for a few moments with Le petit Gnouf et la magie de l'hiver, a tale by novelist Dominique Demers, and meet The King of Winter, an immense snowman made from two kilometres of swansdown bed sheets.

At the Biodôme
Don't miss the What's That Egg? puppet show, on until February 5! Follow Tamarin the monkey as he heads off to look for the parents of the egg that fell out of the sky into the tropical forest. Then the Biodôme invites visitors to move on to the "Becquer bobos" rescue centre, where little ones can have fun pretending to be apprentice veterinarians and preparing food for the animals. The whole family is sure to enjoy admiring all kinds of eggs in every shape and colour in the Eggs exhibition.

At the Insectarium
Do you know why there are so many insects on Earth? Do you know how they help keep nature healthy in a thousand ways? Come visit We Are the Insects and learn the answers to these and lots of other questions.

Ephemeral Forest
Help create the Ephemeral Forest by "planting" recycled Christmas trees outside the Biodôme, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on January 21. And on January 21 and 28 and February 4, 11, 18 and 25, from 7 to 9 p.m., come enjoy some fascinating tales around a bonfire.
