CATSA appoints new VP Service Delivery

OTTAWA, Dec. 12, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) today announced changes in its senior management team.

Yves Duguay, Senior Vice-President, Operations and Customer Experience, will step down March 29, 2013 and Neil Parry, Senior Director, Program Delivery, will assume responsibility as Vice-President, Service Delivery.

"Yves has been a dedicated and passionate leader who has served CATSA well during his tenure. We are very proud of his accomplishments in ensuring CATSA's role as an innovative industry leader in security screening operations," said Angus Watt, CATSA's President and CEO. "I wish Mr. Duguay the best of luck with his new endeavours and welcome Mr. Parry in taking on this important leadership position within our organization."

Mr. Duguay began his career at CATSA in 2007. Before joining CATSA in September 2007, he held senior executive positions with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Air Canada.

As Vice-President, Service Delivery, Mr. Parry will oversee all passenger, non-passenger and hold-baggage security screening at Canada's 89 designated airports. Mr. Parry joined CATSA in 2002, just months after it began operations. He first worked in the Strategy branch before becoming Director, Learning and Development, with responsibility for the training and certification of screening personnel. He assumed his current role as Senior Director, Program Delivery in 2008. Mr. Parry began his career with the government of Canada in 1996 and has held increasingly senior positions beginning with the Department of Canadian Heritage, the former Millennium Bureau of Canada and Transport Canada.

CATSA, established in 2002, is a Crown corporation responsible for:

  • Pre-board screening - the screening of passengers, their carry-on baggage and their personal belongings;
  • Hold-baggage screening - the screening of checked baggage;
  • Non-passenger screening - the screening of non-passengers on a random basis; and
  • Restricted Area Identity Card - the administration of access control to airport restricted areas through biometric identifiers.
