CALGARY, April 30, 2012 /CNW/ - Hello, Toronto, this is Alberta calling.
Todd Hirsch is the senior economist at ATB Financial, which is an Alberta-only financial institution. He's also the author of The Boiling Frog Dilemma: Saving Canada From Economic Decline. Todd is in Toronto on May 2 and 4, and he'd love to share his perspective, the new western perspective with your good viewers and listeners and readers.
The Boiling Frog isn't your typical book on economics. Maybe that's because Todd isn't your typical economist. He argues that it's time for creativity and cosmopolitanism, innovation and internationalism to be admitted into the pantheon of economic virtues. It's a book from an economist without a single graph or pie chart in it. In fact, Todd has agreed to eat the book if a pie chart is ever slipped in.
Take a look and listen here to Todd talk a little more about the book and the west.
Maybe you want to talk about manufacturing, the so-called petro dollar, or maybe you want to talk about what's really happening out west, in terms of finance, oil, culture.
If you are interested, give me a call, drop me a line, and we'll do our best to make it happen on your schedules.
Follow ATB's daily economic comment. @abeconomist is where Todd muses on Twitter.
Thanks!
