Two major Montreal-based rehabilitation centres will use Reacts to provide remote care to patients

MONTREAL, July 22, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Quebec-based Innovative Imaging Technologies (IIT), which designed Reacts, is proud to announce it has recently signed an agreement with the Centre de réadaptation Lucie-Bruneau (CRLB) and the Institut de réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal (IRGLM) - two institutions merged with the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) du Centre-Est-de-l'Île-de-Montréal since April 1, 2015 - to integrate its platform as a tele-rehabilitation tool.

Following a trial process of nearly a year regarding its potential to improve access to specialized rehabilitation assessment, consultation and intervention services, in collaboration with the Centre de coordination et de référence du RUIS de l'Université de Montréal, Reacts proved to be a very effective solution.

Reacts improves access to health care services
"Reacts was put to the test in both of these organizations as part of 8 clinical programs featuring a total of 23 users," explained Dr. Yanick Beaulieu, President of IIT, cardiologist and intensivist at the Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal, and Assistant Clinical Professor at Université de Montréal's Faculty of Medicine. "This solution was chosen for its notable reliability and advanced functions. Reacts brings great flexibility to health care professionals looking to provide remote care."

The various programs in which tele-rehabilitation was integrated involved clients suffering from spinal cord lesions, severe behavioural disorders, progressive diseases, neurological disorders, chronic pain or amputation. Interventions were also conducted with the CRLB's Clinique Parents Plus, with disabled parents who must provide care to their children aged 0-2.

Reacts brings several benefits that led to its selection: user-friendliness for stakeholders and users, security features that meet the standards of the Réseau de télécommunication socio-sanitaire, versatility for both clinical and administrative sessions (high-quality videoconferencing and various interactive collaboration tools), a minimal amount of necessary equipment, as well as low licensing costs.
