Olymel launches Operation Feeding the World Together and makes donations to Moisson Montréal and La Tablée des Chefs

ST-HYACINTHE, QC, Dec. 5, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Olymel management today announced that the firm has made two donations of $10,000 each, to Moisson Montréal and La Tablée des chefs. Olymel has supported these charitable organizations for many years and will continue to support them for many more. The two cheques, for $10,000 each, were presented to Richard D. Daneau, Executive Director of Moisson Montréal, and Jean-François Archambault, CEO and Founder of La Tablée des chefs (see photo).

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, which it celebrated in 2016, Olymel has decided to re-orient its corporate donations policy by taking inspiration from its mission of feeding the world, and support organizations dedicated to aiding and educating individuals and families in need about good nutrition, in Canada as well as Quebec. Olymel's corporate donations will now be grouped under Operation Feeding the World Together and may take the form of monetary contributions, food donations, transfer of knowledge and expertise or volunteer work. As part of this strategy, Olymel seeks to support food banks across Canada, especially in the regions and communities where its facilities are located in Quebec and four other provinces. The company will also rely on the experience of organizations such as food banks and La Tablée des Chefs to develop effective food aid programs adapted to the different realities of individuals and families in need in order to ensure that its donations can actually make a difference.

"I am proud to announce a concrete gesture today, with two grants of $10,000 each to Moisson Montréal and La Tablée des Chefs. These organizations and the many volunteers who work with them play a central, indispensable role for families and individuals in difficulty. As the holiday season approaches, I am confident that Olymel's contribution to these two organizations will be used to meet an ever-growing need. I am also pleased that all Olymel executives will be more involved in implementing Operation Feeding the World Together in the coming years, so we can continue supporting communities with effective, concrete initiatives, as we have been doing for 25 years now," noted Réjean Nadeau, President and CEO of Olymel L.P.

Olymel and its employees are also involved in several other causes, such as funding for research on cancer and other diseases. The company will continue to encourage its employees to become involved in various causes, and will support their initiatives in this area. As it has done in the past, Olymel will also continue to respond positively to invitations from its customers to contribute to the charitable causes they feel are important.
