OTTAWA, Aug. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Starting today, Hydro Ottawa will make a $5 donation to the Max Keeping Fund for Kids at CHEO for every customer who registers for E-Billing before December 31, 2015.
The Fund helps families who need assistance covering expenses related to their child's medical care. These expenses can include travel, lodging, or specialized treatment or equipment that are not covered, or partially covered, by other sources.
For customers who also register for Pre-Authorized Payments, Hydro Ottawa will donate an additional $5 to the Fund.
- More than 92,000 customers already enjoy the convenience of E-Billing.
- Last year's E-Billing campaign promised to donate $5 to United Way Ottawa for each new registration and saw 6,935 customers sign up.
- 2013's tree planting E-Billing initiative encouraged a total of 14,414 customers to register to go paperless.
"CHEO truly touches lives across the city. It is such an important part of our community – from caring for our kids to helping out their families during stressful times. I urge our customers to sign up for E-Billing and support this very worthy institution."
- Bryce Conrad, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hydro Ottawa
"The stress that parents and family members experience when a child is in hospital can be overwhelming. With that in mind I want to thank Hydro Ottawa for choosing to help CHEO relieve some of the pressures that can come with having a sick or injured child. The E-billing program makes life simpler for Hydro Ottawa customers and life better for our community's most precious resource – our children and youth. On behalf of everyone at CHEO we thank Hydro Ottawa for making a difference."
- Jacqueline Belsito, Vice President Philanthropy and Community Engagement, CHEO Foundation
