MONTREAL, Sept. 5, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The 8th edition of Forum Afrique Expansion will be held October 2 and 3, 2017 at Montreal's Sheraton Centre. The event, organized by consulting firm Afrique Expansion with the support of the African Development Bank, will host over 500 African and Canadian investors, entrepreneurs and decision makers looking to forge partnerships and discuss business opportunities in Africa and Canada.
"Now is the time to venture out and invest in Africa," enthuses Amina Gerba, the event's president and driving force. "With one of the strongest economic growths in the world and a diverse wealth of resources, Africa has much to offer, and the Forum is the ultimate place to learn about the African reality and the exciting business opportunities there."
"With its productive B2B meetings, its panels and its conferences, the Forum gives rise to healthy competition, and is an excellent way to build new ties between Africa and Canada," emphasizes businesswoman Danièle Henkel, the event's ambassador. The former star of Dans l'oeil du dragon (Dragons' Den) will chair a breakfast, organized in collaboration with Québec's Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie, on the topic of the economic empowerment of women in francophone countries. She will be joined by 20 influential Canadian and African women, among them former Québec Vice Premier Lise Thériault; New Brunswick Minister of Economic Development Francine Landry; former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Sheila Copps; the president of the Réseau des femmes d'affaires du Québec, Ruth Vachon; and the managing director of Maroc Export, Zahra Maafiri.
