Atleo and AFN Alberta Regional Chief Cameron Alexis joined First
Nations leaders from Treaties 6, 7 and 8 in Alberta in meeting with
Alberta Premier Allison Redford, as well as provincial Minister of
Aboriginal Relations Robin Campbell and Minister of Education Jeff
The Treaty leadership continues to push the province to strengthen and
improve the relationship on a government to government basis to see the
full implementation and enforcement of the Treaties.
"The Treaties are about nurturing and building the relationship and
that's why these discussions are so critical. This means ongoing
dialogue and partnership at the highest levels," said AFN Alberta
Regional Chief Cameron Alexis.
The Alberta Treaty leadership pressured for immediate action in priority
areas, which Alberta Premier Redford agreed to. Premier Redford also
