FACIT (Fight Against Innovation Trust) is a new business trust established by the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) to accelerate the commercialization of breakthrough cancer discoveries from OICR and throughout Ontario.  As OICR and Ontario’s strategic vehicle to transform oncology innovations into viable opportunities that benefit patients, researchers, investors and the province’s economy, FACIT leverages diversified approaches to achieve its broad commercially-focused mandate.  Beyond traditional technology transfer, partnerships and collaborations, FACIT also engages in other effective commercial pursuits such as company creation, guiding on capital market strategies, and/or bridging public and private sectors. FACIT also provides capital to bridge funding gaps and represents an important gateway to OICR and Ontario’s oncology assets, enabling the generation and leveraging of investment opportunities for the most promising innovations.
