Zipcar and the Toronto Transit Commission Announce New Partnership Through
Metropass' 'Hot Dealz' Program

<p><span class="xn-location">TORONTO</span>, <span class="xn-chron">Aug. 4</span> /CNW/ -- Zipcar Inc. and the <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> Transit Commission (TTC) announced today that the international car sharing company is the newest member of the TTC's Hot Dealz Program. The Hot Dealz Program was created by the TTC in 2009 to provide valuable savings to Metropass customers for various <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> attractions and services.</p>

<p>As a partner, Zipcar will offer all TTC Metropass customers a valuable annual membership of <span class="xn-money">$30</span>, a <span class="xn-money">$25</span> savings, and will waive the one-time initiation administration fee of <span class="xn-money">$30</span> for a total savings of <span class="xn-money">$55</span>.  Further, beginning today until <span class="xn-chron">February 4, 2011</span>, TTC Metropass customers that apply for membership will receive 20 percent off of the company's hourly week day rates.</p>

<p>"The services that Zipcar provides to residents of the City of <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> are aligned with the service that the TTC has provided the residents of <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> for decades - an efficient and reliable alternative to car ownership," said Michael Lende, General Manager of Zipcar <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span>. "This synergy makes the opportunity to partner with the TTC through the Metropass Hot Dealz Program a significant initiative."</p>

<p>Both Zipcar and the TTC recognize that access to Zipcar's 360 car share vehicles will provide TTC Metropass customers an additional incentive to forego the purchase or lease of a personally owned vehicle and become more likely to use transit contributing to a sustainable transportation network.  As seen in all Zipcar locations across <span class="xn-location">North America</span>, Zipcar vehicles in <span class="xn-location">Toronto</span> are located within walking distance from TTC subway stops in high density residential areas.</p>
