Yorkville's Buca Osteria & Bar Now Offers Italian-Inspired Weekend Brunch

TORONTO, Nov. 4, 2015 WHO/WHAT:   After a much celebrated first year of operations, Buca Osteria & Bar in Yorkville is the neighbourhood's newest brunch destination, having added a unique and original brunch menu that offers an exciting option in the midtown area for Toronto's favourite weekend activity.

WHEN/WHERE: Every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to 3 pm at Buca Osteria & Bar, 53 Scollard Street, Toronto.

WHY: The brunch menu created by Chef Rob Gentile stands out in Toronto's array of offerings using ingredients and dishes rooted in Italian culinary tradition, with his signature Buca twist. The new brunch menu will appeal to guests for its range of choice, whether they are dropping by for a lovely specialty coffee and light bite, or for a weekend gathering of friends and family over an indulgent multi course shared meal in the true Italian tradition. Those who seek savory will be drawn to dishes like the Uova Cacio e Pepe, featuring poached duck eggs on ciabatta, with fonduta di pecorino, black pepper, and roasted cherry tomatoes, or perhaps the Bombolone, an irresistible breakfast sandwich made with hens egg, mortadella, soppressata, mascarpone and salsa verde on a pressed Italian doughnut. Guests with a sweet tooth can indulge in a selection of pastries like the Castagnole, mini doughnuts filled with dulce de leche, and Pera Cotta, a warm spiced chianti-poached pear. An extraordinary dish to be shared, the risotto is prepared tableside in a unique, 5 year old bella lodi cheese wheel, giving the dish a mild and creamy flavor.
