Resort turns to social media to promote endless fun pass as business
VERNON, BC, Feb. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - Silver Star Mountain Resort has
created the world's largest snowball for first BC Family Day. At 3.6 metres tall and weighing in at 18,000 kilograms, the snowball
beats the previous record by 1.5 metres.
Silver Star Mountain Resort is offering B.C. residents half price lift
tickets on the first BC Family Day (February 11) and visitors to Silver Star see more value with the
resort's My1Pass, Canada's first all-inclusive Season Pass and lift
ticket. With My1Pass, full-day downhill lift pass holders have free
unlimited access to Silver Star's 55 km of Nordic trails, 16 km of
snowshoe trails, Tube Town and ice skating on Brewer's Pond.
"Silver Star is determined to offer the very best value and the
all-inclusive pass makes it easier for families to make the most of
their winter vacation time." says Marke Dickson, sales and marketing
director, Silver Star Mountain Resort. "Our giant snowball is the new
icon for the My1Pass and the endless fun offered at Silver Star."
"Occupancy this BC Family Day weekend is up 30% over last year. The resort is a busy and happening
place, and we're now set for an outstanding month," says Dickson.
Skiers and boarders are asked to tweet, and post their photos of having
endless fun skiing, boarding, tubing and skating or by posing in front
of the world's largest snowball.
Silver Star hopes to set a new social media record for photos shared
under the campaign's hashtag #endlessfun. The resort is offering prizes
on Facebook and their Twitter account @SilverStarMR throughout February.
