'Everybody WINDs' gives new customers half off plan fees for the first six months and gives customers a new reason to tell their friends
TORONTO, May 6 /CNW/ - Summer is nearly upon us and WIND Mobile is turning up the heat. Today, WIND Mobile, Canada's newest national wireless company is providing yet another compelling reason for all Canadians to switch from their current provider or to get their first cell phone.
The brand new offer, called 'Everybody WINDs' gives everybody who signs up 50 per cent off any WIND voice and data plan (not add-on) for the first six months.
"This offer is a direct response to what we have heard from Canadian consumers," said Ken Campbell, CEO of WIND Mobile. "Whether you've never had a cell phone before or you've been waiting for the right time to make a switch, our goal is to give you a new reason to join WIND today."
In addition to the 50 per cent off, the new offer gives customers - both existing and brand new ones - one month of free plan fees for every new WIND customer they sign up (up to a maximum of six new subscribers).
"Canadians have demanded more competition and more choice in wireless for a long time, and we're proud to be delivering on our promise to bring them that," said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman of Globalive and WIND Mobile. "Right now is the perfect time to choose WIND. Our customers are WIND's partners and strongest advocates, and we want to reward them for recommending WIND Mobile to all of their friends."
The Everybody WINDs promotion is valid from May 6th through May 31st, 2010 and comes on the heels of WIND Mobile announcing three new data add-ons this week, as well as its launch of the new Huawei U1250 and Nokia 5230 handsets.
The new data add-ons, Charged Mobile and Charged BlackBerry, are both available for $20 monthly. They include 500MB of data, sufficient for roughly 300 emails or browsing 150 web pages daily. In addition to these two mid-range data add-ons is the new Social Mobile add-on. Social Mobile is priced at a reasonable $10 per month for 50MB of data, sufficient for roughly 30 emails or browsing 15 web pages daily.
Since launching the first completely new national all-IP wireless network in Canada in December of last year, WIND Mobile has doubled the number of cell sites nationwide to improve its coverage footprint and network performance. WIND, which launched in Toronto and Calgary last year, and Edmonton and Ottawa in Q1 of 2010, is preparing to launch in Vancouver shortly, following the addition of 100 new employees to WIND Mobile operations in British Columbia.
