Western Alliance offers cost cutting alternatives in launching a New Oil Country Tubular Goods ("OCTG") and Vacuum Insulated Tubing ("VIT") manufacturing facility in Edmonton, Alberta
EDMONTON, April 21, 2016 /CNW/ - Western Alliance Tubulars Ltd. ("WAT") is pleased to announce that an OCTG/linepipe finishing and VIT manufacturing facility located in Edmonton, Canada, being Stage 1 of a multistage project, is expected to be operational spring/summer of 2016 having API designations of both API5CT and API5L.
WAT has entered into a working partnership and equity purchase agreement with Victoria International Tubulars Corporation ("VIT"). WAT is an Aboriginal Company dually incorporated in the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada and was formed through major ownership of the Moosomin First Nation. VIT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Darun Jiangsu Shined Petroleum Equipment Manufacturing CO., LTD. Darun owns seamless pipe manufacturing facilities in China, Vietnam, and Indonesia and employs over 5,000 people in those mills.
Stage 1 of this multistage project is the manufacturing of OCTG and its accessories, upgrading of both OCTG and line pipe, and other specialized products. The facility includes production lines of Heat Treatment, Upsetting, Threading (API and Premium), Vacuum Insulated Tubing ("VIT"), and testing with capacities up to 7 inch OD and up to 20,000 Metric Tonne per annum. The facility also offers the service of used tubing cleaning and repairing. The geographic scope of our business activities is North America.
