Total support to West Park tops $2 million
TORONTO, Jan. 6 /CNW/ - West Park Healthcare Centre dedicated its auditorium and piano lounge in honour of Enbridge and former Enbridge executive, Robert Martin's, three decade commitment to the Centre totaling more than $2 million.
Top Enbridge executives including Robert Martin, former President of Consumers' Gas Ltd. (now Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc.), Stephen Letwin, Executive Vice President of Gas Transportation & International at Enbridge Inc., and Janet Holder, President of Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc., attended the unveiling of The Enbridge Auditorium and The Martin Family Lounge & Garden View.
"For three decades, Enbridge has invested in West Park's growth and transformation. Enbridge's support has truly made a huge impact, not just on the Centre, but on the thousands of patients who have come through our doors," says Anne-Marie Malek, President and CEO of West Park.
Since 1981, Enbridge and its employees have contributed financially and through volunteerism to support West Park's programs, services and capital projects. The friendship between West Park and Enbridge began with Robert Martin, who devoted countless hours as a member of the Centre's Board of Directors (1984-1996) and President of the West Park Healthcare Centre Foundation (1991-1996).
During his leadership, Mr. Martin encouraged continuity of leadership from Enbridge to West Park. Over the years, key members of the Enbridge staff have continued Mr. Martin's legacy of placing West Park at the forefront of rehabilitation services. Mr. Martin is still an active volunteer and donor of West Park.
Supporting West Park is consistent with Enbridge's commitment to building sustainable communities by supporting programs in health and safety, education, environment, culture and community leadership. Enbridge and its employees deliver on this commitment through financial donations, sponsorships and volunteering time to assist organizations like West Park in achieving their goals.
"Enbridge's three-decade support for West Park reflects the company's long tradition of corporate social responsibility," says Letwin. "By supporting West Park, Enbridge reflects the values of the communities where we live and work. We look forward to supporting the excellent work done by West Park for many years to come."
