Wealthsimple becomes first financial institution to offer secure, read-only Mint access to their clients
TORONTO, May 3, 2016 /CNW/ - Wealthsimple, Canada's leading online investment platform, is making it easier than ever to keep track of your personal finances. Clients are now able to sync their Wealthsimple investment account to Mint's budgeting software.
The new integration will allow Wealthsimple users to access a high-level overview of their investments and track how they're performing. Information is pooled into one central location on the Mint app, and you can track progress towards your investment goals, while keeping track of other finances.
"Making smart financial decisions shouldn't require a degree in economics or a whole lot of time", says Michael Katchen, Founder & CEO of Wealthsimple. "Mint was built with the same philosophy as Wealthsimple - to provide clients with sophisticated, safe, innovative and easy-to-use financial products."
Wealthsimple is currently the only Canadian financial institution that offers secure, read-only access of your data to Mint. They created an API with limited access to account information for clients, to ensure that sensitive information is never revealed.
The integration follows Wealthsimple's recent announcement of eliminating their investment account minimum, and launching a Socially Responsible Investing portfolio option for clients.
