Vortex is the first company in Canada to achieve ISO 9001:2015 Certification by BSI
MONTREAL, Nov. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - On October 9th, 2015 Vortex Conseils (Vortex) was the first company in Canada to achieve ISO 9001:2015 by BSI. ISO 9001 underwent its first major revision since 2008 and was released as ISO 9001:2015 on September 23rd of this year.
"As a consulting firm that helps other companies earn ISO certification and implement quality management systems, it was a strategic goal of ours to be the first company in Canada to achieve our own ISO certification," said Maxime Clerk, SVP, Strategy & Communications, Vortex. "We planned for this well in advance of the standard's final release and worked diligently to align our management system to the new requirements."
Vortex was able to earn certification so quickly following the release of the new standard by working with BSI, the first certification body in the world to achieve ANAB accreditation for the ISO 9001:2015. Vortex was not only the first company in Canada to achieve ISO 9001:2015 certification by BSI, but also the first in North America.
According to the auditor's report, Vortex had no non conformances and an 'outstanding' management system.
"The leadership at Vortex was fully committed to the goal of certification," said Gary Robinson, Commercial Director at BSI Group Canada, BSI. "We understood how important this certification was to their business and were pleased to see them achieve their goal in such a short timeframe and with such excellent results."
