Video B-roll available via CNW - Eddie "the Eagle" Edwards runs with the
flame in Winnipeg

VANCOUVER, Jan. 16 /CNW/ - The Eagle has landed in Canada...again! Eddie "the Eagle" Edwards was back in Canada for another shot at Olympic history. At the 1988 Calgary Winter Games Edwards became the first person from the UK to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games in ski jumping. While working as a plasterer back home, Edwards had to cross the Atlantic to train-with borrowed equipment that was too big. Together with his poor eyesight, Edwards' unlikely story endeared him to fans in Calgary and around the world.

Mr. Edwards returned to Canada, this time in Winnipeg, as an international torchbearer with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Torch relay.

Video package contains footage and interviews clips from Eddie's run, as well as footage of him receiving a curling lesson, climbing an urban ice tower, and ice skating on the Assiniboine River. Package also contains highlights of the flame in Ontario and Manitoba, including footage of famous torchbearers such as musical superstar Shania Twain and hockey legend Gordie Howe.
