TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Global's Sunday animation lineup came back in full force last night, and the hilarity and zany antics ensued, delivering big laughs for television fans coast to coast.

Head to head, Family Guy beat CTV's 1st 1/2hr of The Mob Doctor by 15% and Citytv's 1st 1/2hr of Revenge by 154% in the key television viewing demographic Adults 18-49, Nat.

Plus, making their way from Springfield to the Big Apple, The Simpsons debuted with their 24th season. In fact, The Simpsons returned with nearly 1.4 million viewers (2+, Nat) and also took the #2 spot for the night with 773,000 viewers (A18-49, Nat). The all-time powerhouse animation increased its national A18-49 audience versus its last Fall '11 premiere by 14%.

Global's Sunday night lineup was the clear favourite among the core demographic of Males 18-49 where both The Simpsons and Family Guy were the #1 shows of the night in the key Toronto and Vancouver markets, respectively.
