Vanessa Tijerina Takes Stride in South Texas Congressional Election for Green Party Making Moves to General Election

MCALLEN, TX, Feb. 21, 2016 /CNW/ - Since the talks of the opening for Texas' 15th District House of Representatives seat currently held by Ruben Hinojosa for over two decades being up for grabs in the 2016 election many people of Rio Grande Valley are focusing on the new candidates that will represent the future of their community for the hopes of better economy, laws on immigration, education, healthcare, civil rights, border control, and job opportunities.

Raymondville native Vanessa S. Tijerina, congressional hopeful for Texas Green Party, a nurse and political activist, who announced her run for office in December last year has targeted her campaign around the issues of the community and plans to show out the Democratic and Republican candidates for District 15 with an arsenal of resources and wit that deem sufficient experience and qualifications to carry the torch for the people of South Texas.

Tijerina's background and resume speak for itself. She's worked as a nurse for over nine years by trade and has served as a voluntary political activist in the community for education, cost-effective healthcare with medicinal marijuana oil, in additional to standing up for veteran, minority, and women's rights.

Earlier this month Tijerina visited United Nations in New York to delegate on behalf of economic development, global faith awareness, and civil rights. Her recent panel debate with Democratic candidates, reported by The Rider displayed passionate values for the need for 'family and the church' being one of the most important commodities to the community and hopes to restore the awareness on religious leaders and social services supporters of education and faith in Rio Grande Valley. Hence, Tijerina attended a special conference at the White House on Anti-Discrimination Against Religious Leaders in December to network with other political figures, who support the same thematic cause.

Her campaign has led her to open an office in Mission, Texas to hold an administrative staff that will maintain the growing social media network of followers, meetings with other community leaders in public sector, and build awareness on the political cause and values that she stands for as a stellar 2016 congressional candidate for District 15.

Tijerina for Greener Texas campaign director Cary Lee Peterson comments, "It will be a good election for South Texas; definitely a game changer. I'm proud to represent the first Hispanic-American congresswoman, who abundantly possesses the qualifications on foreign relations and social affairs to lead District 15 into a prosperous future."

Tijerina's campaign committee tells PoliWatch that she will advance to the General Election as a Texas Green Party candidate delivering a grassroots approach on relevant issues in the community with no hype or foul-play against any rivaling candidates to win big in November.
