Unifor available for comment on provincial budget

WINNIPEG, April 11, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada's largest union in the private sector will be available for comment following the tabling of the provincial budget.

"Austerity is a discredited approach that will only do more harm than good," said Paul McKie, Unifor Manitoba Area Director. "Manitoba's core public services are not expendable and must be maintained."

Unifor is calling on the PC government to help reduce income equality by unfreezing the minimum wage and strengthen the middle class by protecting good public sector jobs.

Unifor is Canada's largest union in the private sector, representing more than 310,000 workers. It was formed Labour Day weekend 2013 when the Canadian Auto Workers and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers unions merged.
