TORONTO, Oct. 23, 2015 /CNW/ - UGO Mobile Solutions (UGO) today announced more than 100,000 customers have signed-up for UGO Wallet and have added more than 250,000 cards to these wallets -- in less than a year. Launched last November, UGO – Canada's first open digital wallet – has consistently evolved its offering every quarter, working with customers to identify and bring to market new features that allow them to digitize a growing list of attributes that traditionally reside within a physical wallet.
"This was an aggressive target, and achieving it in such a short time frame demonstrates that customers are adopting this unique and innovative mobile solution," said Alec Morley, CEO of UGO. "When we first launched with our integrated payment and loyalty platform, we promised our customers that we would continually evolve our wallet to meet their needs. We've kept that promise, and we're not done yet."
Features added over the last two quarters include adding an expanded capability to store multiple loyalty cards, and integrating the ability to store, redeem and electronically receive gift cards. UGO expects to announce additional functionality and capabilities in the coming months.
Made-in-Canada for Canadian consumers and merchants, UGO is the first digital wallet to combine multiple banks, payment networks, network carriers and rewards collection, with the ability to store any loyalty card. UGO Wallet is also the first mobile wallet available on all major mobile platforms and across all five major network carriers to offer rewards collection and redemption combined with loyalty card storage capability.
