Two New Members Elected to Graduate Management Admission Council Board of

<p>MCLEAN, Va., <chron>Oct. 27</chron> /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Daniel F. Muzyka, dean, Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia (UBC), and <person>Ray Whittington</person>, dean, College of Commerce and Kellstadt School of Business, DePaul University, have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).</p>
<p/>
<p>They join a 16-member board that includes representatives from academe and industry around the world.  The board sets strategic goals and guides the Council, an association of leading graduate business schools and owner of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).  More than 4,700 graduate management education programs in approximately 1,900 business schools use the GMAT exam as an integral part of the admissions process.</p>

<p>"The significant experience of <person>Dean Daniel Muzyka</person> and <person>Dean Ray Whittington</person> in both the corporate and graduate management education areas makes them especially valuable additions to our board," commented David A. <p>Muzyka is the RBC Financial Group Professor of Entrepreneurship as well as dean at the Sauder School of Business at UBC.  An internationally recognized expert on entrepreneurship, he has written extensively on the topic, including for the Financial Times' Mastering Entrepreneurship and Mastering Innovation series.  He is on the board of directors and former chair of the <location>Vancouver</location> Board of Trade and also serves on the Premier's Technology Council, BC Competition Council, and IROC Board of Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of <location>Canada</location>.  Previously, he was faculty member and associate dean of the MBA program and 3i Venturelab at INSEAD (<location>France</location>) and a faculty member at <org>Babson College</org>.  He received his BA from <person>Williams College</person>, MBA from the Wharton School, and DBA from the Harvard Business School.</p>

<p>Whittington has served as dean of the College of Commerce and the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul since 2006; he was formerly Ledger & Quill director of the School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems in the business school. He has also served as director of the School of Accountancy at San <person>Diego State</person> University, director of audit research for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and senior auditor for KPMG.  He has written extensively about accountancy and is former vice chair of the AICPA Auditing Standards Board.  Whittington is a certified public accountant, certified management accountant and certified internal auditor.  He received his undergraduate business degree from <person>Sam Houston</person> University, master's in accountancy from Texas Tech University, and PhD from the University of <location>Houston</location>.</p>
