KINGSTON, ON, June 25, 2015 /CNW/ - The Technology Evaluation in the Elderly Network (TVN), is announcing the election of Dr. Duncan Sinclair and Dr. Andreas Laupacis to the TVN Board of Directors. Both are renowned health care academics and researchers, and bring considerable public policy experience to the TVN Board, as well as a passion for public engagement in health care and policy, a prime TVN focus.
Dr. Sinclair, PhD, MSc, DVM, LLD, is Emeritus Professor of Physiology and Fellow of the School of Policy Studies at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario where he was Canada's first non-MD Dean of Medicine and Vice Principal of Health Sciences. Read Dr. Sinclair's bio here.
Dr. Laupacis, MD, MSc, BA, FRCPC, is a general internist and palliative care physician at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto where he is also Executive Director of the hospital's Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute. He is a professor at University of Toronto's Department of Medicine and Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation; as well as Adjunct Scientist, and former CEO of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. Russell Williams, Chair of the TVN Board, says Dr. Sinclair and Dr. Laupacis bring extraordinary experience in health policy and system planning to the TVN Board.
