Tsuu T'ina Nation Releases Statement on the passing of former Premier Ralph Klein

CALGARY, March 29, 2013 /CNW/ - Tsuu T'ina Nation Chief and Council were saddened today to learn of the passing of former Premier Ralph Klein.

"On behalf of our Nation members we share in the feeling of loss as our Nation and all Albertans lose a good friend," offered Chief Roy Whitney.

He added, "Our Nation's relationship with former Premier Klein began during his tenure as Mayor and continued during his time as Premier.  Premier Klein understood the challenges that many First Nations faced and was willing to work with us.  Notably he helped our Nation build our economic capacity through our involvement in the gaming industry and we will always remember that."

"Ralph had a real common touch regardless of the offices that he held, and you always felt that he was listening to you.  I personally have fond memories of Ralph, and my Council colleagues and I will be thinking of Colleen Klein, the family and their close friends.  We know the Creator will be watching over Ralph as he undertakes his final journey," concluded Chief Whitney.
