Travel Advisory - Temporary Schedule Changes coming to VIA's Montreal-Ottawa
Trains

New Schedules go into effect Monday, November 2, 2009

MONTREAL, Oct. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that it is implementing temporary adjustments to its Montreal-Ottawa train schedules. These changes go into effect Monday, November 2, 2009.

On average 10-11 minutes have been added to the overall trip time for trains travelling between Ottawa and Montreal in both directions. These temporary adjustments were necessary to take into account ongoing maintenance following the completion of a major work program. VIA expects these changes to remain in effect until the spring of next year.

As some trains will be departing as much as 25 minutes earlier than the current schedule, VIA encourages passengers to check their train departure time prior to their travel date.

VIA wishes to apologize for any inconvenience these temporary schedule changes may cause to its passengers. Customers wishing further information may visit our website viarail.ca or call 1 888-VIA RAIL (842-7245).
