TORONTO, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - The Tourism Industry Association of
Ontario (TIAO) is honoured to be hosting the 2013 Ontario Tourism
Summit and the Ontario Tourism Awards at the Metro Toronto Convention
Centre from November 13-14, 2013.
Now in it's 9th year, the Summit is a well-recognized forum for the tourism industry to
learn the latest trends, share new ideas and best practices, and
network with colleagues. This year's event will host more than 500
tourism leaders from across the province, and features speakers from
Deloitte, TNS Canada, WorldPride 2014, Toronto 2015 Pan
American/Parapan American Games and Google among others.
This year, TIAO will host the Tourism Summit in Toronto, combining the
use of brand new and iconic venues, including the CN Tower, and
Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, which will welcome the post-awards "Club
Ontario" as its inaugural event.
"Attending the Ontario Tourism Summit gives industry leaders access to
new trends and research, marketing, social media and more", explains
Beth Potter, TIAO President & CEO. "This year's Mapping the Opportunities theme comes from our intention to provide clear direction towards
successful delivery of our shared tourism objectives."
The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario is the umbrella organization
for leading associations, destination marketing organizations and
regional tourism organizations serving Ontario's diverse tourism
industry. TIAO collectively represents 147,000 businesses and 608,000
employees that are dedicated to promoting and operating the Province's
tourism infrastructure. TIAO provides a strong unified voice for the
sector, advocating the importance of tourism and the interests of the
business community to all levels of government in order to help the
industry grow and prosper.
