MONTREAL, April 28 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montreal Canadiens' successful season has paid off - literally - for underprivileged children across the province. The Ford Dealers Association of Quebec is pleased to announce that the third annual "Each Goal Counts" fundraising campaign raised $110,000 to benefit the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation. The campaign pledged $2,000 for each goal scored by the Habs during games played from March 2 to April 10, 2010. Over the past three years, the "Each Goal Counts" initiative has raised a total of $330,000 to benefit children's charities.
"We're honoured to be part of such a meaningful campaign that will help make a difference in the lives of so many deserving children throughout the province. As we cheered the Canadiens clinching their spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs, we were thrilled to know that each goal also meant more funding for the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation," said Pierre Bergeron, president of the Ford Dealers Association of Quebec.
"This campaign proves that in life, as in hockey, each goal counts. We are extremely appreciative to have the continued support of exceptional partners like the Ford Dealers Association of Quebec, whose generosity helps us serve underprivileged children across Quebec," said Geneviève Paquette, Executive Director of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation.
The donation was presented by the Ford Dealers Association of Quebec in collaboration with Le Réseau des Sports, (RDS), Le Journal de Montréal, Le Journal de Québec and CKAC Sports.
