Annual "Make Nice Happen" event helps underprivileged youth find a holiday gift for loved ones
WINNIPEG, Nov. 22, 2016 /CNW/ - Giving the perfect holiday gift is a difficult task, and for underprivileged Winnipeg youth it is even more challenging. That is why Think Shift has partnered with R.B Russell Vocational High School (R.B. Russell) to hold a pop-up shop at the school this holiday season. Students who attend the vocational high school and day care will have the ability to shop for free holiday gifts for their loved ones on Thursday, December 15.
"Make Nice Happen is our way to give back to the community that provides so much for our employees and our clients," said Michelle Braun, co-organizer and Graphic Designer at Think Shift. "Our goal is to make this year's event our most successful yet, and in order to do that we are reaching out for the public's support."
Monetary contributions toward the purchasing of new gifts can be made on the Make Nice Happen GoFundMe page at: www.gofundme.com/makenicehappen.
Think Shift is also accepting donations of new or like-new items including:
- outerwear (coats, mittens, hats);
- clothing; and
- other giftable items.
"Giving a gift to a loved one is something all youth should have the ability to experience," said Jay Holdnick, co-organizer and Think Shift's Vice President of Account Services. "Every single contribution will make a real difference in the lives of underprivileged youth right here in Winnipeg."
Individuals can donate new or like-new items by dropping them off during business hours at Think Shift at A-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, or emailing email@example.com to arrange a pick-up.
Make Nice Happen is an annual event organized by Think Shift to give back to the Winnipeg area and encourage others in the community to do the same.
