TORONTO, April 27 /CNW/ - The Ridge at Manitou opens for its fifth season of play on Saturday May 1 and is unaffected by the announced closing of The Inn at Manitou.
"We are looking forward to the 2010 golf season at The Ridge," said Drew Racher, General Manager and Course Superintendent, for the par 72, 6,815-yard layout, located on Manitouwabing Lake, just 20 minutes from Parry Sound. "We regret the closing of The Inn at Manitou but The Ridge at Manitou is a separate business which is growing in popularity with each golf season."
The Ridge opens its 2010 season with a May Madness event with green fees of $75 Monday to Thursday, and $90 from Friday to Sunday. The prices are in effect from May 1 to 31.
The Ridge is located on more than 300 environmentally protected acres. Each hole presents a distinctive personality leading into the forest with rolling fairways, rocky outcroppings and peaceful meadows before retreating back into the woods and finishing at the club's signature 18th hole. With its green site located next to Manitouwabing Lake and timber-frame clubhouse, the 18th quickly attained fame as one of the best finishing holes in Canada.
