"The Peoples' Social Forum's chief purpose is to offer innovative solutions to building a fairer society. It is also a great opportunity to join forces with the various progressive forces in Québec, Canada and in the aboriginal communities. Its goal goes further than beating the Conservative Party in 2015, it is also about curbing right-wing policies and the current austerity trend," stated the president of the CSN, Jacques Létourneau. Executive members of the CSN will be present to contribute to various debates throughout the four-day Forum and will be available for interviews.

The Peoples Social Forum is a festive event showcasing exhibits, history of the peoples walking tours, film screenings, a critical walk, a pow-wow, street shows and concerts.

Founded in 1921, the CSN is a trade union federation that works towards a cohesive, democratic, just, fair and sustainable society. To this end, the CSN takes part in many debates that concern Quebeckers. The CSN federates almost 2,000 unions and represents more than 325,000 workers on a sectoral or professional basis within eight federations, as well as regionally via 13 central councils, primarily in the province of Quebec.
