Rights Commission.

TORONTO, Oct. 22 /CNW/ - The Canadian Human Rights Voice (CHRV) echo the appeal of the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) and will advocate to the Canadian Government to grant protection to the 76 people from Sri Lanka who are seeking asylum.

In a report released Wednesday, UNHRC High Commissioner Antonio Guterres stated "There is an acute need for countries to keep their asylum doors wide open to those who are in genuine need of international protection."

CHRV President Babu Nagaligam and spokesperson Todd Ross will attend hearings at 300 West Georgia Street in Vancouver on Thursday October 22 and Friday October 23 and will be available for comment.
