Survey Reveals More Than Half of Canadians Prefer the Music on When the Clothes Come Off

SiriusXM survey show more Quebecers like to have the music on when being intimate with their partner and Atlantic Canadians prefer reggae for intimate encounters

TORONTO, Feb. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Music is key to getting Canadians in the mood. According to a new study commissioned by SiriusXM Canada, (TSX: XSR), the country's leading audio entertainment company, more than half of Canadians (53 per cent) will likely have music turned on and up this Valentine's Day while getting intimate with their partner.

"Emotions have a stronger link to our auditory stimuli versus visual so what we hear, or don't hear, during sex has the ability to affect what happens between the sheets," said Josey Vogels, sex and relationships expert. "For some, a soft R&B song may get them in the mood, while others might prefer more hard-hitting and bass-heavy music like electronic or dance. People looking to enhance their intimate experience should try putting some music on and make sure it is uninterrupted. SiriusXM, for example, offers commercial-free music channels so you won't have to worry about ads ruining the moment."

The survey also shows that Canadians like to listen to different types of music during intimate encounters. SiriusXM offers more than 65 commercial-free music channels from almost every genre - everything from alternative/rock, jazz/blues, country, R&B/soul, pop, rap/hip-hop, and electronic and dance. This Valentine's Day, SiriusXM subscribers can tune into SiriusXM Love on XM/SIRIUS 17 to help turn up the romance.

Using results of the survey, SiriusXM Canada has put together a playlist to help Canadians get "in the mood" this Valentine's Day. Songs were selected from the genres that Canadians across the country identified as their go-to music categories for intimate encounters.
