FlightNetwork.com Survey Shows Canadians Confident to Travel
TORONTO, Jan. 7 /CNW/ - FlightNetwork.com, one of Canada's highest volume online travel sales sites (second only to Expedia in Canada), today announced that in spite of current passenger concerns over H1N1 and security issues, their holiday flight bookings are up 59.18% over the same period last year (December 1st-January 4th)
FlightNetwork.com's recent poll conducted during the prime-time holiday travel period of December 23, 2009 to January 3, 2010 showed that 94.1% of respondents did not alter their holiday travel plans based on fears around the H1N1 pandemic. The survey also showed only 1.6% had to alter travel plans because a family member was ill with the H1N1 flu.
52.8% of respondents felt confident to travel after receiving an H1N1 shot, while 24.9% do not plan to have a shot this flu season.
An overwhelming 87.4% of respondents plan to book a flight for leisure travel within the next six months.
