TORONTO, Oct. 6, 2016 /CNW/ - Coinciding with the launch of the iHeartRadio streaming service in Canada, the country's biggest and best music service also announced today the inaugural iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball. Building on the wildly successful concert series in the U.S., and launched in partnership with the world's leading live entertainment company Live Nation, Canada's first-ever iHeartRadio Jingle Ball presented by Virgin Mobile celebrates the holiday season with a truly diverse, can't-miss lineup for all music fans featuring superstars The Weeknd – whose performance coincides with the worldwide release of his new album, Starboy – The Chainsmokers, Alessia Cara, and Hedley, with more appearances and surprises for the night to be announced. Taking the stage Friday, Nov. 25 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre, the iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball also features performances by some of the industry's biggest acts including Serena Ryder, Belly, and Kent Jones, as well as an appearance by Kardinal Offishall.
The iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball joins the tradition of iHeatRadio's iconic festivals and concerts, consistently offering one-of-a-kind experiences like last month's 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival that rocked Las Vegas. In a Canadian exclusive, the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival featuring performances by U2, Sia, Sting, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, OneRepublic, and many more will air in a two-night special broadcast tonight, Thursday, Oct. 6, and tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 7 at 8-11 p.m. ET on CTV Two. Following the television broadcasts, highlights from the three-day festival will be available on iHeartRadio.ca.
"Canada's first-ever iHeartRadio Jingle Ball and its slate of powerhouse performers demonstrates the momentum fuelling the iHeartRadio brand," said Randy Lennox, President, Broadcasting and Content, Bell Media. "The iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball lineup personifies what iHeartRadio is all about: it's an experiential brand that unites listeners and fans with radio in all genres, curated audio streams, television content, the biggest music events ever staged, and more."
"Wide availability, richness of variety, and easy accessibility – these are just a few of the features that have made radio a vital and lasting medium," said Rob Farina, Sr. Advisor, iHeartRadio Canada. "The iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball is just one example of how iHeartRadio is evolving the medium to the next level, delivering unique, live experiences that bring the music found across iHeartRadio to live audiences. Stay tuned for more great events, concerts, and exclusive offers!"
Title sponsor of the iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball, Virgin Mobile will be offering its Members exclusive priority access to tickets for the show. Members can get their pre-sale code in the My Benefits App or by heading to virginmobile.ca/benefits. The exclusive Virgin Mobile Member presale runs from Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, Oct. 9 until 10 p.m. ET.
All other iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. ET from Ticketmaster.ca, or by listening to iHeartRadio Canada stations for a chance to win.
As announced earlier this year, Bell Media entered into an exclusive partnership with iHeartMedia, the leading media company in America with a greater reach in the U.S. than any other radio or television outlet, making the iHeart brand available for Canadians for the first time. Since then, Bell Media announced a series of brand events, including the newly minted iHeartRadio Canada Fest, formerly known as CHUM FM FanFest. Most recently, iHeartRadio Canada TOP 20 hosted by iHeartRadio's English Canada Ambassador Andrea Collins, and DÉCOMPTE iHeartRadio Canada, hosted by the French Canada Ambassador for the brand, Patrick Langlois, were launched in September, 2016. Many more exciting concerts and brand developments will be announced in 2017.
The iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball is produced by Bell Media in association with Live Nation Canada.
