Submit ideas by October 6th for a chance to share $1 million in charitable funding
TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2016 /CNW/ - Aviva Canada is thrilled that its 2016 Aviva Community Fund (ACF) competition opens today for submissions. Canadians with ideas for positive change in their community can submit them for a chance to share $1 million in funding.
There are three ACF categories – Community Resilience, Community Health and Community Development – as well as two funding levels – Small Ideas for under $50,000 and Large Ideas for $50,000 to $100,000.
New to this year's competition is ACF's partnership with CanadaHelps.org, a known leader and innovator in the charitable sector. CanadaHelps supports positive impact for charities through online fundraising platforms, resources, training, education and much more. All ACF Grand Prize Winners will receive certain free services from CanadaHelps in addition to receiving funding from Aviva.
"One of the things I learned about the Aviva Community Fund through this competition is that anyone can enter their idea for a chance to make a real impact," said Michelle Porter, Executive Director, Souls Harbour Rescue Mission and 2015 ACF Grand Prize Winner. "A good idea needs to be lasting, sustainable and meet a need that would resonate with the average person in your community."
Idea submission closes on October 6th and voting begins on October 11th, 2016. Finalists are revealed on November 7th and the winners are announced on December 6th, 2016.
Canadians can start making a difference in their community today by submitting an idea to the Aviva Community Fund. Visit avivacommunityfund.org to find out more about the competition and download the "Idea Submission Guide", plus stay up-to-date with ACF through social media.
