Statement by Piccolino Bistro with regard to temporary closure
EDMONTON, Sept. 30, 2016 /CNW/ - Piccolino Bistro has been in business for over 15 years, providing our customers and the community with the highest standard of food service and cleanliness.
Unfortunately our restaurant had suffered an infestation due to a contaminated food delivery. This was the first time in our restaurant's history that such an incident occurred. We engaged the services of a pest control company in multiple attempts to resolve the issue.
Unfortunately, this effort did not achieve complete success and Alberta Health Services (AHS) issued an order to close the restaurant on September 19, 2016 in order to resolve the problem.
Piccolino Bistro took all available steps in 3 days to eradicate this infestation. On September 21, 2016 Piccolino Bistro was again inspected by AHS and given full authority to re-open our restaurant to the general public. All deliveries are being thoroughly inspected to ensure no further contamination occurs again.
We deeply regret that this occurred and will work closely with inspectors and the AHS to ensure that this never happens again.
Our customers are of the most importance to Piccolino Bistro and we value their loyalty.
