Staples Advantage survey finds organizations are getting frugal with office perks - Over 70% don't provide any perks to associates during the summer months

Launches "Fall Back into Summer" Campaign to help businesses reward their employees

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Sept. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - A recent survey of office workers by Staples Advantage, the business-to-business division of Staples, revealed that while most organizations say they value their employees, doling out office perks is on the decline. In particular, the survey found that more than 70% of organizations don't provide any perks to associates throughout the summer months.

"Providing office perks to associates can help retain your best employees," says Gina Deli-Cescato, Human Resources Director for Staples Advantage Canada. "With 81% of respondents stating their job is more enjoyable when they receive office perks, it is good business sense to budget for that little extra something – it could go a long way in getting the best out of your employees."

The survey also showed that workers appreciate flexible schedules (64%) and more freebies at work such as free movie passes or event tickets (36%) as perks. To help businesses reward their employees, Staples Advantage launched a Fall Back into Summer Campaign, giving away 100 Free Movie Passes to one lucky organization by entering the contest online.
