SIPA's Video Contest to raise public awareness of investment industry deception

TORONTO, Nov. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - It's Financial Literacy Month in Canada and SIPA ran a video contest to raise awareness that the investment industry is deceiving investors by calling sales persons "Financial Advisor". The regulators say this is a non-regulated business title and has no meaning.

Entries have come in from across the USA and Canada. Winning entries will be available to view at www.sipa.ca.

  • First Prize $3000 winner from Sylmar CA.
  • Second Prize $1500 winner from Austin TX
  • Third Prize $750 winner from Lethbridge AB

The quality of submissions was high so it was decided to award three additional consolation prizes of $200 each. The consolation winners are from St. Louis MO, El Paso TX and Henderson NV.
