Sims Recycling Solutions Canada becomes Canada's first electronics recycler
registered to OHSAS 18001

TORONTO, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Sims Recycling Solutions Canada has successfully become the first electronics recycling company in Canada registered to the international standard OHSAS 18001. OHSAS 18001 is an occupational health and safety management system enabling organizations to control and continuously improve its occupational health and safety risks.

Over the last 5 years alone, Sims Recycling Solutions has recycled 80 million pounds of electronic scrap in Ontario to some of the highest global standards."

Sims Recycling Solutions has committed to registering all its global facilities to the OHSAS 18001 standard by the end of 2010.

To become registered to the OHSAS 18000 system, companies must be audited by an accredited auditing company and demonstrate compliance to complete risk assessments of operations and identify all possible risks hazards associated with each job function
