Sienna Gold Inc. - Results from Dissident Proxy Challenge to Management
CALGARY, Aug. 24 /CNW/ - On August 23, 2010, Sienna Gold Inc. ("Sienna") held its Annual General & Special Meeting of Shareholders ("Meeting"). Albert Hulzebos and Andreas Glatiotis, both former directors of Sienna (the "Concerned Shareholders") had issued a Dissident Proxy Circular and sought submission of Dissident Proxies for voting and electing a replacement Board. Despite an unsuccessful vote and the very short time frame for the Concerned Shareholders to have submitted for voting the requested dissident proxies, the response from such request was excellent - most encouraging.
The Concerned Shareholders thank the Sienna shareholders for their support in these efforts.
This support they believe has given direct notice to Sienna's Board of the wishes of its Shareholders to have Sienna move forward to implement a well planned, adequately budgeted and funded, exploration program for the IGOR gold and copper porphyry prospect, Peru.
At the Meeting John Rucci, President and Director of Sienna, announced that Sienna would be: "(d)rilling in about two weeks." The Concerned Shareholders will be mindful of this announced commitment and will look forward to hearing of Sienna's results from these drilling operations.
