TORONTO, Dec. 9 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. (TSX: SCC) announced today that it is offering a special discount on bulk toy purchases, designed to provide organizations who are coordinating charity toy drives a 10% discount on toy purchases of $250 or more.
"The Holiday season is a time when Canadians demonstrate an immense amount of generosity, and toy drives are a big part of that," said Dene Rogers, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sears Canada Inc. "No one wants to see a child go without a gift. This year has been a difficult one for some families financially, and donations may not be as abundant as in previous years, forcing toy drive organizers to purchase a portion of their requirements. Sears wants to help those organizations stretch their dollars further if the need arises for them to supplement the generosity of Canadians."
The discount will apply to organizations which spend $250 before taxes and which can provide information regarding their cause. Toys eligible for the special discount can be found on Pages to 679 to 845 of the 2009 Sears Wish Book or by clicking on the "Toys" tab at the top of the Sears website home page at www.sears.ca. Electronics and accessories such as MP3 players, game consoles, video games and DVD players are not included.
Interested parties are invited to contact Sears by phone toll free at 1-866-596-6683 or by email at email@example.com. The discount offer is in place until December 18, 2009.
