MARKHAM, ON, June 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Saint Elizabeth, a national health provider and innovator, is proud to announce it will be working with three unique ventures who participated in the recently concluded Impact8 program , a bootcamp for social businesses to learn how to widen their impact. The program was co-sponsored by the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing and Saint Elizabeth.
Saint Elizabeth became involved with Impact8 to support the work of entrepreneurs intent on empowering individuals to be in control of their health and well-being, which was the focus of this spring's programming.
In the immediate term, Saint Elizabeth is partnering with QoC Health (www.qochealth.com), a health technology company that deploys person-driven care solutions. Saint Elizabeth is also working with Komodo OpenLab (www.komodoopenlab.com) and MyVoice (www.myvoiceaac.com) to help get their life-changing innovations in the hands of individuals and families. Both technologies allow people with mobility and speech impairments to use smartphones and tablets to lead richer, more independent lives.
"Success for us is about enabling solutions that impact individuals and families in meaningful ways. It's been a tremendous opportunity and privilege for us to learn from all the Impact8 ventures, and apply their ideas and wisdom to our own focus on solutions that make a true difference in people's lives. We are so excited by the possibilities."
--Shirlee Sharkey, President and CEO, Saint Elizabeth
"It is truly inspirational to be working with Saint Elizabeth, an organization that has made a real commitment to seek out and support new innovations in healthcare. Together, we will drive change and improve experiences for people that are part of the Saint Elizabeth network both today and in the future."
--Chancellor Crawford, Managing Director and CEO, QoC Health
"Our involvement in Impact8 has been a wonderful experience. It's allowed us to access a series of professional mentors from organizations like Saint Elizabeth, to help us learn about the social impact space."
--Alex Levy, CEO, MyVoice
"For us it has been great to learn more about other companies that are working in a similar space, where we have different markets but we face the same challenges. To get some extra feedback on what we're working on and see if we're on the right path or if we need to change is really valuable."
--Mauricio Meza, co-founder, Komodo OpenLab
