TORONTO, Aug. 17, 2016 /CNW/ - Roots (https://roots.com/), Canada's leading lifestyle brand, and Aramex, a leading global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions, today announced the launch of an innovative duty calculator checkout solution for global roots.com shoppers. The solution enhances a year long partnership between the two companies for international ecommerce shipping to over sixty countries from Canada.
The new duty calculator solution is only the second time this cutting edge solution provided by Aramex has been implemented and the first time for a North American based website. The calculator allows Roots to advise and collect local duties and taxes for almost fifty countries worldwide while at the same time reducing freight charges for Roots. The solution provides a great final mile delivery experience, reduces transit times in many geographies and clearly identifies the final cost for the end customer.
James Connell, VP e-Commerce & Marketing at Roots, said: "Since deploying this solution, we have seen an uplift in international sales and a significant drop in returns and refused orders due to the collection of import taxes and duties. Integrating this solution into our e-commerce proposition was the next logical step in our commitment to providing international customers with an optimal online shopping platform. Overall we are very pleased with the new offering".
Shannon Thompson, Country Manager for Aramex in Canada, said: "We are excited about our partnership with Roots.
