Remington Resources Inc. announces results of drill program on Blunt property

VANCOUVER, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - Remington Resources Inc. (TSX-V: RGM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the results of a drill program completed on its 100% owned Blunt Mountain property, located approximately 27 kilometres east of Hazelton, BC. The property, comprising 626.85 hectares in three mineral claims, was explored by a Noranda/Atna Joint Venture in the mid-1980s for high-grade polymetallic Au, Ag, Pg, Zn veins. Nine showings were discovered.

In August 2009 Remington crews mobilized to the property to re-examine several of the known showings. The surface sampling results confirmed the high-grade nature of the veins and a preliminary drill program was initiated to test three of the showings.

Nine NQ-size drill holes totaling 533.9 metres were competed from three drill pad setups testing three targets. Drill holes DDH-09-01 to 03 tested the Upper Mound showing, holes DDH-09-04 to 05 tested the Lower Mound showing and holes DDH-09-07 to 10 tested the Ferri Creek showing. Collectively the three drill setups tested the vein/shear zone over a strike length of 400 metres. The holes encountered various intrusive units and strongly altered sedimentary rocks. The shear zone is quite prominent in drill core and is manifested as highly broken to shattered core with variable clay gouge; the vein system is always at the top of the shears.

The results of this initial drill program are encouraging with the target vein system being intersected at both the Upper Mound and Ferri Creek showings where high-grade silver and lead values were intersected. The results of all holes are summarized in the table below. The target was not intersected in holes DDH-09-01, 03, 04 and 05. The zone was apparently pinched out or faulted off in holes 01 and 03. The dip of the zone is uncertain where tested by holes 04 and 05 and the holes may have been drilled sub-parallel to the dip. This could be tested in a future program by drilling from the opposite direction.

The intercept lengths reported are core lengths, not true widths. Units are metric tonnes and conversion from g/t to oz/t was 34.285. The core was sampled on-site under the direction of the on-site geologist who determined the sample intervals and shipped via Greyhound to the Stewart Group to be analyzed at their facility in Kamloops with aqua regia digestion for 28 elements by ICP with an AES finish. Gold analysis was Fire Assay of a 30 gram pulp with AA finish. Over limits from the ICP for silver, lead and zinc were by more by precise ore grade assay methods. A copper-gold standard was inserted randomly into the sample sequence and returned results within the expected error limits for the sample. The lab also completed internal quality control checks and duplicate analyses.

The Company intends to follow-up on this drill program when conditions permit in 2010. Prior to any further drilling, a grid will be established over the showings and very detailed Mag and VLF surveys will be conducted over the known showings to evaluate what response is received. Lines will likely be spaced at 25-metre intervals with readings at five-metre intervals. A "Beep Mat" may be practical in some of the lower-lying, flatter areas but not in the areas of rugged terrain. The intent of the surveys will be to determine areas of massive sulphide mineralization prior to additional drill testing. If the surveys outline potential areas with the same response as the known showings then these targets will be drill-tested. In addition, the Upper Mound showing remains open to the southwest and the Lower Mound showing should be drilled from the opposite direction.
